Navigate CRA Modernization with New CRAVision

January 13, 2020

Polygon Research is pleased to announce the release of our new subscription offering: CRAVision.

As the modernization debate is heating up, we bring the facts and insights from the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) data to lenders, policy makers, and regulators.

Like HMDAVision (our SaaS app launched last year), CRAVision models the 5 most recent years of a government curated data set - in this case Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) data - blends it with complementary FDIC and Census data sources, and presents it to our subscribers in a series of intelligent, interactive charts and CRA assessment maps accessed via web browser.

Participate in the Modernization Debate - Staying flexible through research

Assessment Area Definition
One focus of the modernization debate is the definition of the assessment area that the banking agencies use to assess a bank's compliance. It influences the CRA's effectiveness in delivering banking services to low- and moderate-income areas. The interactivity of CRAVision with its insightful and instantaneous assessment area mapping capabilities from individual census tracts all the way to the national view, allows bankers to engage in a 'what-if' definition of their Assessment Areas and to compare those AA definitions to their peers. It gives bankers a data-driven decision-making process for how to meet their CRA obligations in a way that plays to their business model strengths and also understands the community credit needs and opportunities. Moreover, the powerful visualizations allow them to share their stories with communities and policy makers.

CRA Qualifying Lending and Services
CRAVision has all the data and facts that are needed to clarify and expand the types of lending and banking services that qualify for CRA credit. By understanding the communities in which the bankers lend, they will be able to expand their product and borrower base by offering new loan or investment products. By not limiting the scope of data and, in fact, by incorporating more data, CRAVision creates a one-stop research capability for important CRA product lending decisions.
